Lazer Designs specializes in custom engraving of high quality products and gifts. They contacted Fire&Spark™ in January 2019 to help them grow their organic traffic and revenue, which was historically higher during the holiday gift-giving season. They wanted to spread their revenue more evenly throughout the year to maximize their capacity to produce engravings.

Solution

Fire&Spark™ and Lazer Designs set the goal of identifying areas of improvement that would drive holiday-level traffic and sales during non-holiday season months. Our improvements focused on optimizing product pages, fixing on-site technical issues, conducting keyword research, and adding new content. Also, we generated relevant backlinks through targeted outreach to improve off-site SEO.

Methodology

A mix of on-site and off-site SEO, combined with content creation and content marketing, allowed us to reach our goal of boosting Lazer Designs’ organic traffic and revenue.

Our team conducted a technical SEO audit of their existing website, followed by a review of its content.

After fixing several technical issues on the site, Fire&Spark™ prepared a strategy that entailed:

  • Optimizing the title tags of nearly 1,000 product pages
  • Conducting keyword research to create new collection pages
  • Generating dozens of new pages of blog content, based on our keyword research
  • Identifying thin collection pages, adding new content, and optimizing them based on our keyword research

Results

Within eight months, our client’s traffic reached new heights. August 2019 had 15% more organic users than December 2018, the peak of the holiday season. This is a rare feat for a gift site. Furthermore, Fire&Spark™ on-site and off-site SEO efforts contributed to organic visitor growth of 65%, along with a 40% increase in organic revenue.
